TLT is 'very well known in the Scottish licensing market' and demonstrates particular expertise in the alcohol, taxi and gambling licensing sectors. The team acts for national operators and local enterprises and is led by Stephen McGowan, who is a frequently recommended specialist in liquor licensing. TLT 's practice has notable expertise in the financial services sector, acting for a string of big-name banks and other lenders. Practice head John Paul Sheridan leads on all matters concerning solicitor and surveyor negligence and carries out his own advocacy in the Court of Session; he also has expert knowledge of prescription issues, having previously provided evidence to the Scottish Parliament on the matter. The practice also pursues claims for individuals against their former solicitors and acts for claimants in construction disputes.
TLT's Scottish real estate team recently benefitted from its merger with specialist commercial property boutique Leslie Wolfson & Co, which added three partners and a variety of clients to its roster. Nick Shenken also recently joined as a partner from Pinsent Masons LLP and has particular expertise in the clean energy sector. Kenneth Meldrum leads the group, which acts for a range of commercial property developers, investors, leisure operators and retailers.

The 'hugely knowledgeable, approachable and non-judgemental' team at TLT has been particularly active defending corporate clients, most notably from the construction and infrastructure sectors, against various claims such as discrimination, unfair dismissal and holiday pay but it also handles TUPE matters arising from business acquisitions, restructuring and redundancy scenarios as well as collective bargaining and whistleblowing matters.
