Position

Helen is recognised as a leading individual with particular specialism in brain injury and cerebral palsy. She recovered the highest level of lump sum damages, ÂŁ6.6 million, ever awarded for a claimant with cerebral palsy who was a patient (prior to Periodical Payment Regime). Helen heads the team and is highly regarded for her work handling complex cerebral palsy, neurological damage and fatal claims. She is a Law Society Personal Injury panel member and AVMA Clinical Negligence panel member and has acted as a panel member for AvMA debates. Helen has been appointed APIL senior litigator. She founded Oxford Medico-Legal Society in 1997. She has a wealth of experience in dealing with complex cases and is recognised for her energy, approachability and willingness to 'go the extra mile' to vigorously pursue clients' interests and get the best results. She also deals with Court of Protection matters and acting as deputy assisting claimants to manage compensation awards.

Career

Qualified 1994; partner Darbys Solicitors 1994. Helen founded Oxford Medico-Legal Society in 1997. She has written articles on clinical negligence issues for the Law Society Gazette, the Solicitors Journal and Legal Week and been featured as 'Lawyer of the week' in the Law Society Gazette
