Julia is a Partner in the Evesham office. Julia qualified as a Solicitor in 1989. She was a Partner with Vizards and its successor practices from 1993 until she joined Everatt & Co (now part of Plexus Law) first as a Partner in 2002 before moving to Shakespeare Martineau in 2015. She re-joined Plexus Law in 2020.

Julia is a strategic and persuasive thinker who is passionate about the delivery of legal service excellence. Over the last 30 years she has gained extensive experience of defending Health & Safety related regulatory/criminal prosecutions on behalf of insurers and on direct instruction from corporate and individual clients within a number of sectors including healthcare, retail, rail, agriculture, light and heavy industry, construction , energy and education. She also deals with enforcement action brought by CQC against healthcare providers in the context of registration by way of written submission and Appeals and has a strong track record of reversing decisions.

Julia regularly advises and represents clients and represents clients following fatalities (most notably recently in relation to student suicide) including representation at Inquests.

Julia is a very experienced litigator and represents insurers and their insured in relation to employers’ liability, public liability and road traffic claims. In view of her regulatory/criminal experience Julia is able to deal with all aspects of claims from initial investigation, criminal/regulatory enforcement/interviews under caution , inquests and then the claim itself.  She has a very strong record of dealing with catastrophic loss especially brain injuries, psychiatric damage, spinal injury/paralysis.

In addition to her Health & Safety role Julia has valuable experience in new business development. She maintains successful relationships with insurers, private clients and referrers across the board.

Julia is a member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL) and the Health & Safety Lawyers Association (HSLA). She regularly provides bespoke training to clients upon accident investigation, how to avoid prosecution, how to deal with intervention/prosecution by enforcing authorities, Inquests and the coronial process, and upon corporate manslaughter. She also regularly delivers seminars on a variety of subjects, most recently to AMOSSHE and to the Care Industry. She is featured in the Legal 500.




Julia has an MA in Law from Jesus College Cambridge.
