Chris is a Partner in the Casualty Team in the Leeds office. He qualified as a Solicitor in 1991 and has over 30 years’ experience of insurance litigation, product liability and regulatory work.   Throughout this time he has acted on behalf insurers, brokers and major corporate clients.

Chris has a wide experience of representing corporate and individual clients in relation to regulatory investigations undertaken by the Police, Environmental Health Office, Environment Agency, Office of Rail Regulation and Trading Standards. He regularly advises in relation to interviews under caution and deals with a range of sentencing hearings and trials in the Magistrates and Crown Courts.

Chris also deals with a significant number of product liability cases across a broad spectrum of issues, particularly involving white goods, which often span civil and regulatory matters.

Chris regularly receives instructions in relation to high value personal injury and miscellaneous defendant insurance claims. Often these require advice in respect of both regulatory and civil issues and dealing with strategy accordingly. When a fatality is involved Chris provides advice and attendance at inquests and in relation to Regulation 28 reports.

Chris regularly provides seminars and training to clients on a range of  topics and has written various legal articles. He is very conscious of the importance of risk management and providing strategic advice rather than dealing with matters on a transactional basis.

Chris enjoys walking and reading and dragging his two teenage sons to watch their beloved Burnley FC on a weekly basis.
