Etihad Airways, Ryanair, Emirates and Rotana Jet are also clients. Senior associates Charlotte Thijssen and Cyril-Igor Grigorieff are key members of the group.

Industry focus: Transport Tier 4

The group at Kennedys is comprised of 'excellent advisers' who are, according to one client, 'experts in transport and logistics'; the group is a key name for aviation clients. Dimitri De Bournonville heads the practice, which includes recently promoted partner Charlotte Thijssen, both are praised for being 'pragmatic in their approach and for providing spot-on legal advice'. The group assisted Air Belgium with the set-up of a long haul airline activity with a base in Belgium.

Next to serving our clients in the insurance sector, Kennedys’ Brussels office has strong and recognised legal and professional expertise in aviation, transport and commercial matters. Our clients in these sectors also benefit from an unrivalled level of services in the area of European Union regulations.

Our lawyers have a deep knowledge of the European Institutions’ mechanics, thereby ensuring that the position of our clients is taken into account and safeguarded in contentious and (pre) legislation matters.

Our Brussels-resident lawyers, who are multilingual and admitted to practice before the European and Belgian courts, offer a high level of legal service and sectorial know-how to our clients.

Having held senior in-house positions with some of the key players in these industries, our lawyers have a thorough understanding of the technical and operational issues our clients face, and the practical effects of the legal advice that is provided to them.

We are actively involved in various industry initiatives designed to increase the knowledge of operators and regulators, particularly in relation to aviation and transport matters.
