With offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Sevilla, as well as the support of its global network, Andersen is well positioned to handle insolvency proceedings for clients across Spain. The team is well known for representing insolvent parties, and has solid expertise in acting for companies in the real estate and construction sectors. Managing partner in the Madrid office Javier Mata leads the practice, with support from the Valencia-based managing partner Benjamín Prieto.
Andersen‘s already sizeable team – present in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville – continues to grow, most recently with the 2022 hires of former judge Óscar Arredondo and Pablo Doñate, who joined from Martínez-Echevarría Abogados and is noted for his ‘outstanding strategic vision‘. In line with its growth in personnel, the department has also expanded its client list, attracting new instructions from both domestic and international companies. In addition to the firm’s consistent work in litigation, it has also been involved in complex institutional and ad hoc arbitration proceedings. Elena Sevila is a name to note in this space; her practice encompasses domestic and international arbitration as well as cross-border litigation, and in May 2022 she was appointed coordinator of the firm’s European litigation and arbitration practice. Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre‘s ‘knowledge and strategic approach always give great peace of mind, along with fabulous results‘; he co-leads the department with Benjamín Prieto. Luis Cortezo, senior associate Francisco Álvarez and associate Joana Rodríguez are also singled out for praise.
