Position

Hanneke is co-managing partner of the firm and co-head of the Insolvency and Restructuring team. She also has extensive experience in the areas of banking, financing and security rights. Hanneke is regularly appointed by the Amsterdam court as bankruptcy trustee or administrator in high-profile and complex insolvencies. She also works for companies facing financial difficulties or insolvency or their stakeholders. In addition, she regularly represents clients in major (corporate/commercial) litigation inter alia on insolvency related matters such as directors’ and shareholders’liability. Hanneke has a seat on the Insolvency Law Committee of the Netherlands Bar Association (Adviescommissie Insolventierecht), a committee of the Netherlands Bar Association that advises the Minister of Justice on draft bills in the area of insolvency law. She also has a seat on the review committee (Toetsingscommissie) of the Dutch Association of Insolvency Lawyers (INSOLAD) that handles complaints against members and she is a member of the editorial staff of Tijdschrift voor Curatoren (Journal for bankruptcy trustees).

Before BLIX was founded in 2009 and Florent was formed in 2017, she worked for many years at Van Doorne.

Florent has a multi-disciplinary approach to restructuring and insolvency, leveraging the strength of the wider firm’s M&A, litigation and banking and finance experts. It has a substantial asset recovery practice, which makes it well placed to handle bankruptcy proceedings, fraud litigation and financial fraud investigations. Team members often act as court-appointed trustees and administrators in bankruptcy and suspension of payment cases. Hanneke De Coninck-Smolders heads the practice alongside Kees van der Meent. Pieter van Uchelen joined as partner from Simmons & Simmons.
