Position

David heads up Joelson’s Employment team and has significant experience in advising both employers and senior executives.

With a background in ground-breaking heavyweight litigation (including securing victory for the families of the Omagh bombing victims in their landmark civil action against the Real IRA and for victims in the Almog v Arab Bank litigation), David now specialises exclusively in employment law. He was responsible for scoring an important victory for UK employers in the Sunrise Brokers v Rodgers case, where he obtained an injunction to block an employee joining a competitor without payment of salary.

Most recently prior to joining Joelson, David ran a niche employment firm in The City specialising in the financial services and tech sectors.

David’s employment practice includes defending high value tribunal claims, handling high profile senior exits and giving strategic advice on all employment aspects. He is known for giving clear, commercial and forward-thinking advice.

David has previously been recognised in both Chambers and Legal 500 directories, the Super Lawyers UK Guide and has been a regular contributor to the FT and the Guardian.

As 'an exceptional firm that devotes itself fully to the cause with excellent service levels', Joelson 'treats every client with extreme professionalism' and has 'a refreshing approach that separates it out from others in the market'. The 'impressive' David Greenhalgh heads up the group, which also includes 'complete star' Jennifer Maxwell-Harris, who has 'a real talent for communicating constructively and persuasively with opponents to great effect'. The group's work for employers and senior executives spans employment disputes, relocations, senior exits, restrictive covenant issues and workforce restructuring issues with notable expertise in the financial services, technology and food and drink sectors. The team recently advised Healthy Kids on new service agreements for its co-founder and CEO and is assisting Larry King with restrictive covenants issues.
