Career

In addition to her studies and while working on her doctorate, she joined Kather Augenstein in Dusseldorf as a research assistant in 2016.

After successfully completing her doctorate in 2018, Dr Katharina Brandt gained extensive experience during her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Dusseldorf, with an international commercial law firm and in the legal department of a Dax company in Dusseldorf and was able to further deepen her specialisation.

Dr. Katharina Brandt has been advising national and international companies from various industries in all areas of intellectual property law since her admission in 2021.

She studied law with a focus on information, telecommunication and media law (ITM) at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, where she completed additional studies in intellectual property law.

After obtaining her 1st state examination in 2016, Dr. Katharina Brandt completed her doctorate at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster in the field of patent law under the guidance of Professor Dr Thomas Hoeren on the topic of “The product-by-process claim in the system of German patent law”.
