Career

Edyta Defańska-Czujko is a Partner at CRIDO Legal responsible for developing the employment law team. For over a dozen years she has been advising employers on HR matters. Edyta has extensive experience in employment restructuring including, in particular, employee outsourcing and group redundancies. She also advises on complex issues regarding flexible forms of employment, including cross-border employee transfers, and employment of temporary workers. Her experience in collective employment law encompasses collective bargaining agreements and agreements concluded with trade unions, as well as resolving industrial disputes. She also negotiates with trade unions. Furthermore, she advises on matters related to the remuneration of management board members and senior managers, on issues related to pay policies and in the area of special regulations for entities conducting regulated activity under the supervision of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. Her advisory services for the financial sector also include identifying employees who have a significant impact on the risk profile in the structure of companies and  development of policies for the assessment of qualifications of members of management and supervisory bodies for entities conducting regulated activities. She regularly represents clients before the ordinary courts and investigative authorities. Her litigating practice includes in particular disputes related to the establishment of employment relationships, management dismissals, as well as matters regarding the breach of personal rights of employees, harassment and discrimination. Edyta works for clients from various sectors of the economy, including the financial, service and BPO/SSC services sectors. Furthermore, she provides ongoing legal support to a number of domestic and foreign firms, with particular emphasis on the main areas of her specialization. Before she joined CRIDO Legal, she was a partner and head of the labour law practice in a law firm recognized in the Chambers Europe ranking. Prior to that, for 7 years she was associated with a reputable law firm where she advised corporate clients on employment law. She is an attorney-at-law and a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw.
