Joost van Ladesteijn leads one of the largest Labor & Employment Law practices in the Netherlands with a growing number of currently 21 Dutch employment lawyers over 5 offices, excluding 7 pension law lawyers.

The practice group differentiator is its cross border and multidisciplinary approach, which explains global mobility as one of its specializations. The Dutch team is praised by its clients for its “smart” domestic and international restructurings, including but not limited to outsourcing projects. Joost assists various leading companies or the (European) works council thereof. He assists his clients on especially: mobility, equity, restructurings and compliance. He has extensive experience as project coordinator in projects regarding global mobility, global equity and global compliance with global coverage for leading companies.


Joost started his carreer with HVG Law in 2006 rotterdam and became a partner in 2016.

Joost has over 10 years of experience as an attorney at law and is a specialist in employment law and employee participation law. He has written over 200 publications in magazines and journals. He is editor of three books on employment law and co-determination law as well as editor of the journal “Grensoverschrijdend werken”. Joost is a frequent speaker on events.

Joost has been awarded with the Law Leadership Award (Belgium/Netherlands) for his publications and presentations. He has also been chosen as beacon of the Dutch EY and HVG Law organization.
