Position

Partner in the Ministry of Defence team in Cambridge acting exclusively for service personnel for more than ten years. Simon was one of the first lawyers to settle a claim arising out of Gulf War 2 (Op Tellic) and was one of a select group of lawyers invited to make representations to the Secretary of State in relation to the inception of the AFCS. Simon has a particular interest in non-freezing cold weather injury claims, assisting several hundred clients and recovering over £10m in compensation. Through his cold injury work Simon has gained considerable experience in assisting Commonwealth soldiers in claims for compensation and, specifically, recovering losses which stem from their deprivation of British residency following medical discharge. In addition to his personal injury work he also regularly assists with claims being brought under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme. Simon received the Law Society prize for outstanding academic performance in his LPC and was a finalist in the Young Lawyer of the Year category at the Eclipse Proclaim Awards in 2009.
