Position

Guy heads the medical law and patients’ rights team at the Cambridge office. He has specialised in clinical negligence since qualification, acting for claimants in a broad range of cases including delays in diagnosis, surgical error and inadequate treatment. He has substantial experience in handling maternity related claims, where children have suffered brain damage around the time of birth or mothers who have suffered serious injuries. He has acted in a number of ‘wrongful birth’ cases where congenital conditions such as Down’s syndrome, spina bifida or CMV have not been diagnosed during pregnancy. He is also well known for his expertise in IVF/fertility treatment claims and has conducted several complex, high-profile cases on behalf of clients nationwide. Guy represents families at inquests and the resulting claims for damages, including deaths in psychiatric units and care homes.
