Gillian is a specialist in Court of Protection work. She helps to manage the finances of people who have lost capacity to manage their affairs themselves – either because of an injury or due to a medical condition, such as Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Her work ranges from taking care of simple cash estates, to more complex finances involving investments and property. She also helps elderly clients manage their nursing home fees and arrange reassessments when they fall below self-funding thresholds.

Gillian also helps families with statutory Will applications – this is a Will that is approved by the Court of Protection on behalf of those who have lost capacity to amend it themselves. This is a complex and sensitive matter, as a person’s Will is extremely important.
