Faz is an ex Ship’s Master and a UK qualified lawyer. Faz’s practice includes wet and dry shipping. He is the global head of Ince & Co’s Shipping group, headquartered in London. Faz regularly advises CEO’s and Management on complex legal matters.

Faz is well known for shipping litigation, from collisions, salvage, total losses, groundings and shipboard fires to general shipping disputes. He is particularly known in the market for his expert advice in the highly charged atmosphere following a maritime casualty. As an ex-tanker man, Faz is also frequently instructed in tanker cargo disputes and contamination claims. 

He handled the complex and high profile Prestige and Costa Concordia incidents. He was also involved in other significant cases such as the serious collision between Corvus J and Baltic Ace, the collision betweenMaritime Maisie and Gravity Highway and the Stolt Valor explosion.

Faz is regularly instructed on insurance aspects on behalf of Hull underwriters and P&I Clubs on marine insurance matters ranging from H&M, P&I, FD&D, marine and offshore disputes. His experience also encompasses leading an Insurance company as CEO which provided him with an excellent understanding of insurance.

Faz was named as Lloyd’s List Global Maritime Lawyer of the Year 2013. He was also ranked amongst the Lloyd’s List Top 10 Law Personalities 2013, which lists the most influential people in shipping. He is a sought after speaker.

Two years later a new law was issued by the National Assembly containing more than 80 amendments, additions and repeals (Law No 891) which came into force December 18th, 2014.
