Career

Faz is the firm’s Global Head of Shipping and an ex Ship’s Master. He regularly advises CEOs and management teams on complex legal matters, particularly in relation to wet and dry shipping.

Faz is well known for shipping litigation, from collisions, salvage, total losses, groundings and shipboard fires, to general shipping disputes. He is particularly known in the market for his expert advice in the highly charged atmosphere following a maritime casualty. As an ex-tanker man, Faz is also frequently instructed in tanker cargo disputes and contamination claims.

He handled the complex and high-profile Prestige and Costa Concordia incidents. He was also involved in other significant cases such as the serious collision between Corvus J and Baltic Ace, the collision between Maritime Maisie and Gravity Highway and the Stolt Valor explosion.

Faz is regularly instructed on insurance aspects on behalf of Hull underwriters and P&I Clubs on marine insurance matters ranging from H&M, P&I, FD&D, marine and offshore disputes. His experience also encompasses leading an insurance company as CEO, which provided him with an excellent understanding of the industry.

Despite several high-profile departures, the team at Ince 'still provides a Rolls-Royce service'.
