Matters being worked on include both large-scale antitrust investigations and mergers, and support for clients’ day-to-day commercial operations. The firm has particular experience in the areas of abuse of dominance, merger control, vertical relations and distribution, cartels, and unfair competition.
The firm’s headline public cases in 2018/2019 include: advice on Russian merger clearance of the global acquisition of Celgene by Bristol-Myers Squibb, which is a landmark transaction to create a leading specialty biopharma company to address the needs of patients with cancer; successful representation of NSFR in a complaint against major Russian network operators (the so called “Big 4” NTOs comprised of MTS, VympelCom, Megafon and Tele2) on an abuse of a collective dominance by way of setting excessive prices and imposing discriminatory terms in respect of text messaging; successful representation of M.video in case of an abuse of a collective dominance by setting excessive retail prices for devices containing TV-tuners.
In the area of merger control, the firm helped clear with FAS in 2018/2019 cross-border mergers for the total value of more than $113 bn.
