Career

Christopher S. Mckenzie is “Of Counsel” in the Investment Funds, Asset Management and Corporate practices of the Firm. Christopher qualified as an English solicitor in 1987 but has been practicing as an international offshore lawyer for the past 29 years, having spent considerable time living and working in the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands initially managing and developing his own law firm and then becoming a partner of the largest offshore firm in the world, heading up its BVI legal team in London for nearly ten years.

During this time, Christopher has advised a wide number of banks, asset and fund managers, institutional investors and various other financial institutions on the structuring of a broad range of investment fund vehicles and structures including hedge funds, private equity and property funds (both open and closed ended) as well as the administration and regulation thereof. Christopher has also advised banks, and other financial institutions on the provision of loan finance and other secured lending as well as corporate and individual borrowers from all business sectors.

Christopher is also a “Solicitor, admitted to practice in Luxembourg (liste IV – avocat exercant sous son titre professional d’origine)”, as well as a full member of STEP (“Society of Estate Practitioners”) since 1996.
