Position

Michael is a Director and set up the employment team in the Liverpool office.

Michael focuses on getting to know a client’s business, culture and commercial goals. This enables him to provide timely, practical and commercial support specifically tailored to the client’s needs.

Michael is an experienced commercial employment specialist and Tribunal advocate. He advises clients on all aspects of employment law with a particular interest in providing strategic advice, trade union law and industrial action, TUPE, the employment aspects of corporate transactions, restrictive covenants and injunctions, and representing clients in the employment tribunal. Michael has appeared before Tribunals throughout the UK, including the Industrial Tribunal in Northern Ireland.

Michael is also a specialist on discrimination law in the provision of goods and services. He advises organisations on their obligations under the Equality Act, handles complaints from service users, liaises with the Equality and Human Rights Commission, and represents clients in the County Court.

Michael acts for clients in a wide range of sectors but has particular experience in the transport and logistics, manufacturing, hospitality and leisure, and retail sectors
