Raymond is a partner in the Birmingham office of Freeths LLP, specialising in all types of commercial law and dispute resolution, with particular emphasis on construction, engineering and health and safety. He is regularly appointed as a mediator in commercial disputes and as an adjudicator.
Career
Qualified 1992, trained at Pinsent & Co. Formerly the principal of Joyce Legal and a partner in Pinsents and Garretts (aka Andersen Legal), specialising in commercial law and dispute resolution. Made partner at Freeths in 2007. regularly appointed as a mediator and adjudicator. Author of ‘The CDM Regulations Explained’, 1st/2nd editions; ‘The CDM 2007 Regulations Explained’; and ‘A commentary on construction contracts, part II of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act, 1996’.
Memberships
Institution of Civil Engineers (fellow); Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; TeCSA; ADR Net; Society of Construction Law; liveryman of the worshipful Company of Engineers. He is a member of the Legal Affairs Panel and the dispute resolution panel of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
