Mr Akin Volkan Arikan is the managing partner of ARIKAN | PARTNERS ILC and has broad experience in contract consultancy, project finance and dispute resolution matters concentrated on international projects. Having worked in an American AmLaw100 Law Firm for a long period of time, Mr. Arikan became partner at a prominent and leading Turkish Firm where he led the firm’s International Corporate Department, before the establishment of ARIKAN | PARTNERS ILC. Mr Arikan recently played a key role in several esteemed international projects including the Marriott Hotel Project in Sochi, Third Bridge Project in Istanbul, Zorlu Office Tower Project in Istanbul and Le Meridien Hotel Project in Nigeria. Mr Arikan represents firm’s clients in sophisticated cross-border projects including international commercial contracts, construction, mergers & acquisitions, project finance, corporate restructuring and complex dispute resolution matters. He has been involved in numerous international dispute resolution matters including international arbitration cases before ICC, SCC, UNCITRAL, ICSID and LCIA. Mr Arikan’s involvement in international dispute resolution is not limited to the litigation matters but include alternative dispute resolution methods. Most of the disputes settled under Mr Arikan’s consultancy and representation are related to the biggest companies in different sectors including oil and gas, construction and technology. The amount of the recently settled disputes is more than one billion dollars. His international experience encompasses high-scale projects in diversified countries including UK, USA, Russia, Switzerland, France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Qatar, Libya, Jordan, Georgia, Iran, Egypt, Nigeria and Turkey. Mr Arikan’s previous experience before ARIKAN | PARTNERS ILC includes the counselling and representation of national and international clients in diverse practice areas in corporate law related matters and international arbitration. Mr Arikan is currently representing companies with an operational power of multi-billion dollar transactions and the leading companies doing business in Turkey and abroad. With his team of focused lawyers, Mr Arikan helps his clients in complicated international corporate and dispute resolution projects by bringing solutions to the needs of companies. Moreover, Mr Arikan advises several foreign investors in their investment plans to Turkey.
