Position

Sinem is a partner at Boden Law. Her practice is focused on emerging technology companies as well as corporations implementing new technology initiatives. She also brings broad experience in international contracts and dispute settlement.

Career

Sinem has extensive experience in all aspects of international arbitration, including drafting and negotiation dispute resolution clauses in commercial contracts, representing clients in arbitration under various institutional rules such as the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Istanbul Arbitration Centre (ISTAC), Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Centre (ITOTAM) and ad hoc arbitrations under the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), and enforcing arbitral awards in courts. She has advised clients on a wide range of issues, including breach of contract, investment disputes, and regulatory matters. She frequently acts as an arbitrator in disputes arising from technology contracts.

In addition to her work in international arbitration, Sinem is also a recognized practitioner in the technology sector. Sinem advises companies involved in fintech, data and automation, AI, biotech and other emerging technologies as well as corporate clients from the automotive, healthcare, banking and finance, media and entertainment, manufacturing and distribution, energy, infrastructure, construction, hospitality, and others whose sectors are being disrupted by these innovative companies. She assists clients in forming strategic alliances, handling compliance matters, international growth and drafting, negotiating and managing contracts. She has advised clients on a variety of legal issues related to these industries, including regulatory compliance, corporate transactions, and dispute resolution. Her experience in these sectors has given her a deep understanding of the complex legal and commercial issues that arise in international disputes involving energy and technology companies. Understanding the value of big data and new trends of regulating data protection, Sinem provides legal advice to corporations on data processing and transfers, and on issues in connection with multi-jurisdictional cybersecurity matters.

Sinem’s combination of expertise in international arbitration and the technology sectors allows her to provide clients with comprehensive and strategic legal advice and representation in cross-border disputes. Whether representing a multinational corporation or a startup, Sinem brings a strategic and client-focused approach to every matter she handles.

Sinem is a guest lecturer at the LL.M. program of Istanbul Bilgi University and teaches international technology contracts and dispute resolution. She frequently gives lectures on advocacy skills and career building to students at Istanbul Bilgi University.
