The firm: The attorneys of Stijl Advocaten originate from major law firms in the Netherlands (among others Loyens & Loeff, Lexence and Stibbe). With the benefits of top law firm experience, Stijl Advocaten provides legal expertise in the area of commercial and public real estate at competitive prices. Prompt, personal and cost-effective service is the key strength of the firm’s business model. Stijl Advocaten’s expertise includes both the civil and public law aspects of real estate. As well as structuring and advising on commercial real estate transactions and area developments, Stijl Advocaten focuses on matters of lease law and property management, construction law, administrative law, environment and spatial planning, public procurement law and state aid. Stijl Advocaten further holds a strong dispute practice, representing clients in court and in various arbitration institutes.

Stijl handles cross-border work for foreign companies acquiring, developing or divesting real estate in the Netherlands, and for Dutch companies acquiring, developing or divesting real estate abroad. Cross-border projects include countries such as Denmark, Spain and China.
Areas of practice: Stijl Advocaten has, since its founding, been a key partner for its clients in some of the largest property and area developments of the Netherlands. The firm is comprised of both an experienced and highly qualified private and public law section that advises both national and international clients.
Stijl Advocaten advises Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) in European tender procedures for trains and trams. CAF is an international tram and train developer, which designs, builds and delivers trams and trains. CAF is listed at the Madrid stock exchange. Stijl Advocaten is the lead partner for CAF in the Netherlands. In that respect, Stijl Advocaten negotiates with the tendering parties on the purchase agreements for trams and trains and the development of infrastructure. CAF recently won the tender for new trams in Amsterdam.
Stijl Advocaten advises German real estate investor Patrizia on several matters relating to the asset management of their Dutch real estate portfolio.
Stijl Advocaten advises on the re-development of a former military airport into a housing, leisure and public service and office area. Furthermore, Stijl Advocaten advises the Municipality of Apeldoorn regarding the construction and exploitation of a multifunctional sports centre.
Stijl Advocaten advises Dutch housing corporation Ymere on several re-developments in the Amsterdam area, among others, the inner city development ‘Overhoeks’, where a former Shell industry complex has been transferred into an area for housing, leisure, museums, restaurants and education.
Stijl Advocaten advises the Province of Flevoland on the development of a large industrial area for heavy industry near the city of Lelystad with a neighbouring in-shore harbour for the distribution of containers, bulk goods and other large materials. Stijl Advocaten advises on matters of state-aid, procurement law, ground lease, contract law and public law.
