Career
Following internships at Freehills in Sydney and at DG COMP of the European Commission in Brussels, Stephen trained at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London. He began his career as an anti-trust lawyer with a broad-based experience of UK and EU competition law and practice including merger control, anti-competitive agreements and behaviour, and state aid matters. He subsequently switched to practising corporate and commercial law and, as a senior corporate lawyer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Milan and a partner at Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati (from 2013), has advised Italian and international clients on mergers & acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures and cross-border commercial agreements.
