Position

Anthony is a partner in the corporate department and heads the M&A team. He is one of the lead corporate partner contacts for corporate real estate and the firm’s international practice and its two referral networks.

Anthony plays a lead role in the operation and development of the firm’s services in domestic and cross border corporate mergers and acquisitions, corporate private equity and venture capital, corporate finance, including AIM, private and corporate tax, domestic and international wealth protection and private and corporate banking.

Anthony acts for private and listed companies, financial institutions and intermediaries and entrepreneurs. His experience includes corporate finance, domestic and offshore listings, takeovers, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, MBOs and MBIs, turnaround and pre-pack advisory, public and private fund raising, secured lending, acquisition finance, tax-related products and collective investments schemes.

Anthony Hunt and Ashley Reeback lead the team at Howard Kennedy LLP, which was bolstered by the arrivals of Jonathan Polin from Dentons in June 2017 and Jonathan Cohen from Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP in October 2017. The team is noted for its expertise in the hotel, restaurant, leisure and retail sectors: highlights in these areas included Hunt acting for Pandora Jewellery UK on the acquisitions of various concept stores from franchise partners; Paul Glassberg advising Yolana and AYU London (companies associated with restaurateur Alan Yau) on their joint venture with an investor to develop and operate a chain of Turkish restaurants; and Eric Gummers acting for Fairview Hotels on the acquisitions of hotels in Cardiff, Newcastle and Rugby as part of its continued expansion programme. In addition, Gillian White advised the shareholders and management of the Aston Barclay Group on the MBO by Rutland Partners. Michael Harris and legal director Stephanie Brigg are also noted.
