Gary is an experienced criminal defence lawyer and a partner at HJA with a wide experience of criminal cases specialising in serious crime. This includes conspiracy cases, drug importation matters, human trafficking allegations, fraud and has represented many people charged with murder securing an acquittal in the last year and currently pursuing the defence of insanity/diminished responsibility.

He is also an experienced Magistrates Court advocate most recently having been acquitted of complicated common assault matters and is regularly asked to act for clients who face prosecution in relation to dangerous dog offences.

He has experience in representing defendants under the umbrellas of both publically funded work and private client cases always preparing for and presenting a robust defence for his clients.


Gary trained at a South London firm and was a senior lawyer in a well-known practice before joining HJA and being made a partner in 2018.


Gary is a member of the LCCSA and the Fraud Lawyers Association.

Gary’s passion is firmly cemented for criminal defence work leading to him completing his LPC at the College of Law in Store Street London before being offered a training contract.

Starting January 1st, 2013, a new tax law (Law No. 822, Tax Concertation Law) came into force in and completely changed the taxation system in Nicaragua. Two years later a new law was issued by the National Assembly containing more than 80 amendments, additions and repeals (Law No 891) which came into force December 18th, 2014.
