Position

Edward Jones is a Partner in the Criminal Defence team at Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors. He specialises in cases involving serious crime, extradition and the management of personal data held by the police.

Edward has represented clients arrested pursuant to European Arrest Warrants and also on more complex extradition requests from countries that are outside the European Arrest Warrant scheme. He has a particular specialism in litigating these complex cases and has represented individuals facing extradition requests from a diverse range of countries including Kenya, Thailand, Turkey, Albania, the USA and Colombia.

Edward also has extensive experience of advising and representing clients accused of serious crimes, including rape, manslaughter and murder. He is an accomplished advocate with Higher Rights of Audience, which allow him to conduct jury trials himself before the Crown Court.

He is also well known for advising clients in relation to Disclosure & Barring Service checks and applications to amend or delete individuals’ records contained on the Police National Computer. A co-author of a leading book on the subject, Edward has an impressive track-record of successfully applying to delete unlawfully administered police cautions and applying to remove individuals from the Children’s & Adults’ Barred list.
