Career
Christina Ioannidou is a Director and one of the founding partners of the firm since its setup in 2007. She heads the firm’s corporate department and has extensive experience in Banking and Finance, Commercial Law, Corporate Law, Litigation, Mergers and Acquisitions, Restructuring and Insolvency, Stock Exchange Listings and Public Offerings.
With a focus in corporate and commercial law, Christina possesses unique characteristics as a lawyer and trusted adviser to the client, emanating from her diverse educational background and experience in both sciences and the law as well as her dynamic personality. Christina’s extensive exposure to both the world of mathematics/statistics and the law, at the world’s best Institutions, has resulted in her charismatic approach when dealing with a client’s legal challenges. Christina applies a thorough and structured approach when resolving a complex legal matter, maintaining a practical behaviour throughout the process and eventually concludes the business deal in the best interest of her clients. In addition and where required, Christina litigates on behalf of her clients appearing before both the District and Supreme Courts on corporate and commercial matters.
With considerable experience in Mergers and Acquisitions and Joint Ventures, Christina is adept at drafting and structuring contractual documentation and transactions in high value international and local transactions, mergers and takeovers of banking, insurance and other general business concerns, joint ventures of local and international corporations, syndicated loans and other banking, financing, securities and corporate organizational documentation. Her expertise in structuring complex contractual transactions has resulted in her extensive involvement in the most high profile and high valued transactions taking place in Cyprus in the last few years.
Furthermore, Christina is active in advising international corporations and investors on how to best utilize Cyprus corporate vehicles through the setup of tax efficient structures and the use of Cyprus and/or overseas vehicles, including inter alia corporations, trusts, foundations and partnerships. As a result of her advisory role and thorough legal and boardroom experience, she often accepts appointments as a non-executive director in the board of directors of international companies operating in Cyprus.
Christina’s exceptional performance and unique approach with clients, has resulted in the establishment of her enviable clientele of major local and international banks, public companies, insurance companies, technology startups, shipping companies and trading conglomerates.
Christina is the author of various publications on Cyprus Corporate and Commercial Law and she is often invited as a speaker at Universities and international conferences.
