The contentious team is known for its knowledge of estates and complex trust structures and for its complex multi-jurisdictional experience advising on trust and estate disputes involving partnerships, company structures and agricultural holdings. Personal injury and clinical negligence: claimant Tier 3

The clinical negligence team at Higgs & Sons has some first-rate practitioners including Clare Langford and Sue Allen, both of whom are widely recognised for their expertise at handling a variety of high-value and complex clinical negligence claims, especially serious birth injury claims and other claims including cerebral palsy and delayed diagnosis actions. Langford leads the clinical negligence department and has extensive experience of handling a broad range of complex claims. She is particularly interested in cases involving a delay in diagnosing meningitis and loss of vision claims. The personal injury team has increasingly focused on helping people who have suffered a major trauma. It has particular experience in dealing with cases involving brain injury, spinal injury, amputation and serious orthopaedic injury as well as severe psychological injuries and fatal accidents. Personal injury practice head Andy Shaw handles a wide range of claims with considerable experience of achieving multimillion-pound settlements. Steven Santy aids clients who have suffered major trauma, concentrating on ensuring that they gain early access to rehabilitation.
