Career

Mr. Koresh joined the firm in 1988. Mr. Eldad Koresh is managing partner and Head of APM & Co.’s Commercial department. Leveraging every deal, every transaction and every insight acquired over 25 years of practice, Mr. Koresh brings his own distinctive advantage to the practice of law- his immense in-depth understanding of a broad range of legal practices. As a multi-disciplinary lawyer, Mr. Koresh provides his clients with a broader range of services, including the entire array of issues they may face in their commercial dealings. Beyond the obvious highly professional legal counsel, Mr. Koresh has a remarkable ability to take a step back and decipher the most complex multinational transactions, understanding the actions required and outlining them simply and clearly to all involved, while providing creative solutions that integrate various legal disciplines. Further to his legal expertise, Mr. Koresh has a broad knowledge and understanding of business and finance, enriching his counsel by providing of his knowhow, outlook and opinion in these matters. Advising and accompanying his clients through all phases of a transaction, Mr. Koresh sees it as his role to take part in the analysis process, determining the appropriate financing alternatives, helping in the negotiation process and leading the parties to an agreement. Besides managing processes at a macro level, he also takes part in the actual legal work. Mr. Koresh specializes in all aspects of the commercial practice, including crises management- a field in which broad experience, in-depth commercial understanding and superior litigation skills are imperative. In addition, having extensive experience in litigation and arbitration procedures, Mr. Koresh has acquired a unique specialty in political litigation and representation of senior government officials. He is also experienced in all matters related to financing transactions, real estate and infrastructure projects, gas and energy and communications. Mr. Koresh, not only leads the firms’ top tier antitrust practice, he is also well experienced in handling regulation and legislation procedures, protecting his clients’ interests in their interaction with different government entities. Additional Activities Further to his work at APM & Co., Mr. Koresh serves as a judge in the Labor Party tribunal, a member of the Antitrust Committee of the Israeli Bar Association, the legal counsel of the Israeli Manufacturers Association, the Israeli business sector representative in BIAC (Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD) and is the legal counsel of the Israeli Oil and Gas Association.

Advocates and Notary is best known for handling M&A and investment transactions in the hi-tech sector, which often have cross-border components. Ian Rostowsky acted for Fluence Group in relation to its approximately $267m merger with RWL Water, and also assisted a number of growth companies with financing rounds involving international investors. In the domestic market, Eldad Koresh and Orit Israeli are advising Reshet Media on its proposed merger with New Channel 10. Israel > Dispute resolution: local litigation and arbitration

Amit, Pollak, Matalon & Co. Advocates and Notary has ‘a good all-around litigation team‘, with lawyers who ‘take the time to become familiar with the details of every case, and know all of its strengths and weaknesses‘. In particular, clients praise Aya Reich-Mina, who represented a joint venture between Oron Investment & Holdings and Seldat in relation to a petition filed by Israel Land Development Company concerning the decision to approve the joint venture for participation in the main tender for the construction and operation of the main supply centre for the IDF. Acting alongside Eldad Koresh, Reich-Mina also acted for a client in relation to an inheritance dispute in which it was decided that Israeli probate proceedings apply to an estate’s property abroad. In addition, the team represented the Presidium of Israel Business Organizations in a High Court claim, where it was determined that it is illegal to delegate the collection of municipal taxes to a private collection company. Israel > Competition/antitrust

The antitrust group at Amit, Pollak, Matalon & Co. Advocates and Notary has particular expertise in advising trade associations on Israeli antitrust laws, and has handled merger control issues and antitrust litigation for a number of clients in the food and media sectors. In the contentious space, practice head Ravit Arbel is representing Intellect MR in a case against the General Director of the IAA concerning a restrictive arrangement in the field of newspaper distribution; the claim is before the Supreme Court and has been cited by the IAA as one of the most prominent Israeli antitrust cases of 2018. Arbel and Eldad Koresh also assisted Reshet Media with the regulatory approval for its merger with Channel Ten – although the merger was cancelled by the client shortly after the IAA approval. Additionally, the team provides comprehensive antitrust advice to The Israeli Food Manufacturers Association, The Manufacturers Association of Israel, and Israel Builders Association Boney Ha’aretz, among others.
