Within: Planning

Herbert Smith Freehills LLP provides ‘a consistently high level of service and sector-leading planning knowledge.’ Head of team Matthew White is ‘one of the biggest names in planning'. Recent work includes advising British Land on the £2bn redevelopment of Canada Water, a 19-hectare site including the Harmsworth Quays Printworks, which will include a new urban centre and 3,500 homes. Catherine Howard continues to advise AQUIND Limited on proposals for a £1.1bn 2GW capacity interconnector project, running 150 miles undersea between the UK and France, the route of which will pass through five local planning authorities as well as requiring a marine licence. Howard also advised EDF Energy on its application for a new nuclear power station, Sizewell C in Suffolk, particularly in relation to consultation prior to making its DCO application. Counsel Charlotte Dyer is ‘an extremely dedicated practitioner and the speed and efficiency with which she produces high quality work is very impressive.’ Associate James Gibson  joined the team in April 2017 from Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP.
