Cellia Cotan Cognard is a corporate partner seconded to Herbert Smith Freehills’ associated Indonesian law firm Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung.

With more than 13 years of experience in Sydney and Jakarta, she specialises in cross-border public and private M&A, private equity, joint ventures and foreign investment transactions, with a particular focus on the consumer, pharma/healthcare and financial services/fintech sectors. She is also an experienced lawyer specialising in data protection laws in Indonesia.

Education

Cellia is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in Australia and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University as well as a Bachelor of Laws (Maîtrise en Droit) and Master of Laws (Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies) in law of international economic relations from the Université de Panthéon-Assas (Paris II). Cellia is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, English and French.
