Philipp Drömann began his professional career as lawyer at a commercial law fim in Düsseldorf in 2005 having an emphasis on international trade law. Before joining Fleet Hamburg as member of the founding team, he has been practicing as a maritime and shipping lawyer with Ince & Co in Hamburg. He also worked with a marine insurance provider in Oslo, dealing with FD&D and P&I matters.


He speakes German and English.


Philipp is a member of the German Association for International Maritime Law (DVIS) and the German Maritime Arbitration Association (GMAA) as well as the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS40).


Studies: Philipp studied law in Passau, Cologne and Auckland, New Zealand. Qualifications: He holds a Masters degree from the University of Auckland (LL.M. Commercial Law) and submitted a doctoral thesis on a topic relating to private international law. Philipp is admitted as Rechtsanwalt and as solicitor (England and Wales)
He specialises in international trade, shipping and energy & offshore, which, in particular, encompasses disputes under charterparties and contracts of carriage, offshore supply contracts but also ship arrests. He represents clients in the marine and wind-energy sector including windfarm developers, ship operators, offshore suppliers and their insurers in negotiations and in court proceedings. His non-contentious practice covers, in particular, drafting and advising on contracts and general terms & conditions.
