Stephan’s practice consists primarily of assisting in and advising on transactions, both fundings and takeovers, mergers and joint ventures. The emphasis is on large clients in the broader energy sector, where his knowledge of specialist energy law comes in very useful. Stephan is the head of the energy law team at Ploum. Stephan was recommended by the 2018 Legal 500, in which he was described as ‘solution-oriented and pragmatic’.

Education
Stephan graduated from the University of Utrecht in 1998, majoring in Private Law and Criminal Law. After graduating, he worked for Loyens & Loeff and in 2003 he moved to Ploum. Stephan completed the Post-Graduate Programme in Funding & Securities at the Grotius Academie and the Post-Graduate Programme in Energy Law at the VU University Amsterdam. Stephan is a lawyer and partner.
