Ms Podsiedzik-Malec is a solicitor and a member of the Warsaw Bar Association. She gained incomparable experience from her tenure at the Polish Competition Authority (also known as “UOKiK”). She was the Director of the Legal Department and previously, the Deputy Director of UOKiK’s Department of Market Surveillance, in which, among other matters, she worked on investigations of the safety of products. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in applying Polish and EU regulations in competition and consumer protection cases. As a seasoned litigator, she often represented the Polish Competition Authority in cases before courts of all instloseances.

With regard to her recent experience in in a private enforcement cases, Ms Podsiedzik-Malec worked on a private damage action claim filed by one of the largest mining companies in Poland. The claim seeks damages resulting from bid-rigging among suppliers of the company.  In particular, she worked closely with competition economists and the client in assessing and calculating the extent of damages incurred. 

Ms Podsiedzik-Malec is skilled in representing clients in merger-related investigations as well as in a wide variety of consumer protection matters.

Prior to joining the Hansberry Tomkiel firm, Ms Podsiedzik-Malec was the director of the Department of Construction Products at the General Office of Building Control, where she was involved, among other things, with supervising the control of construction products and administrative proceedings in that area. On behalf of the General Inspector for Building Control, Ms Podsiedzik-Malec issued administrative decisions. She also prepared clarifications for applicable regulations and technical requirements concerning construction products.
