Career

Lynne is an English qualified Solicitor, Jersey Advocate and Partner at Baker & Partners.

Lynne trained at Allen & Overy, before qualifying into its litigation department where she carried out a broad range of commercial litigation, arbitration and public inquiry work.   Lynne subsequently worked at several of London’s top firms including Baker & McKenzie and Charles Russell Speechlys, practising the full spectrum of commercial and civil dispute resolution.

In 2013 Lynne subsequently became in-house lawyer at Centamin Plc, a FTSE 250 mining company based in Jersey.  In this role, Lynne carried out a wide range of international regulatory, compliance, advisory and commercial work in addition to litigation spanning multiple jurisdictions including the UK, Africa and Canada.

Lynne’s work covers a broad range of civil and commercial disputes with emphasis on complex, multi-jurisdictional cases, tracing of assets and fraud claims.  She has extensive experience gained over 25 years of practise covering a wide range of disciplines and environments.

Education

Lynne studied at University College London, graduating with first class honours before completing her legal studies at the College of Law in London.

Baker & Partners is often instructed to investigate and prosecute cross-border cases concerning fraud and mis-selling of investments, in addition to being tasked with co-ordinating international enforcement orders and asset recovery efforts. The practice is also sought out by financial services companies for advice on regulatory risks, including AML procedures, and regularly represents clients under investigation by regulators. Simon Thomas is an external crown advocate, frequently acting on white-collar crime instructions from the attorney general.
