Career
Mr. Turkmen is a managing partner who has almost 15 years of commercial, corporate and structured project finance experience in the energy sector – including a large number of landmark transactions in emerging markets. He has long-standing experience leading deals involving airports, renewable and conventional power plants, transmission and distribution lines, hospitals and defense projects both in Turkey and abroad. He has a great experience at solving different transactional challenges that each deal brings, and the cross-border needs of his clients.
He undertook both greenfield and brownfield transactions and complex financings and advised investors, contractors and developers on investment contracts, project finance and acquisition documentation, and has advised certain investors against governments on a number of “first in country” transactions.
Mr. Turkmen’s experience extends from private deals to public private partnerships (PPP); engineering, procurement, and construction contracts, design contracts, service-availability and operation-maintenance contracts as well as offtake agreements, along with structured project finance documents related to such transactions.
Mr. Turkmen has been ranked multiple times in Energy sector bulletin by Legal 500, one of the most reputable ranging institutions, and reported as “knows the energy market very well”.
