Position

Vesna Polić is Of-counsel at gbf Attorneys-at-law Ltd and is specialised in Swiss transport law and in the international carriage of goods. She has particular experience in relation to the liability of carriers (sea, inland waterways, and road) for cargo damage and delay in delivery. She regularly advises on Swiss insurance law, in particular in relation to cargo insurance, as well as the insurance of carriers’ and freight forwarders’ liabilities to third parties.

Career

Vesna Polić started her career at the Adriatic Institute (Maritime Law Institute) in Zagreb where she was a senior research associate. Prior to joining gbf Attorneys-at-law she was working at Bâloise Insurance Company and Allianz Suisse where she was dealing with major claims, mainly in the field of the liability of transport providers, and was providing legal support to the Underwriting and the Claims departments. She has delivered numerous papers and seminar lectures around the world and has written a large number of articles in her field of specialisation.
