Iván Sólyom is LKT’s Corporate Partner and Co-Head of the Anti-Trust and Competition law practice, having about 20 years of experience at our office. His further areas of expertise include Telecommunications, Media and Technology, Corporate and M&A, Intellectual Property, Data protection, GDPR law and Life Sciences. He also advises clients on Litigation and Arbitration.
Besides Hungarian and English, Iván speaks fluent Italian, he graduated from the Universita Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore in Italy. Iván is a Hungarian-Italian dual qualified, widely acknowledged, popular lawyer with a very hands-on an can do attitude. He has many talents and specializations, holistic approach and high rankings. In addition, it is notably active in areas such as healthcare and automotive, among others. The firm often acts for foreign entities and private equity houses on the acquisition and disposal of assets in Hungary, as well as corporate restructurings of existing branches in Hungary. More recently, however, the practice has also seen a steady flow of work involving an interface between IT, data protection and regulations in the automotive sector, specifically, a growth in instructions from leading manufacturers such as Volkswagen, as well as electric battery manufacturers and suppliers. Iván Sólyom leads the practice, which also includes employment lawyer Éva Bognár, who has a significant focus on data protection, data privacy, GDPR and social media. A key contact for Asia-based clients is associate Péter Szaniszlai, who is a speaker of Japanese and Mandarin Chinese, and is recommended for IP and data protection work.
