Career

Gilles Gaillard heads the insurance and the reinsurance practice in the firm. He has more than 20 years of experience in corporate and insurance law both on contracts and products (life and non-life), joint-ventures or holding structures and on regulatory matters related to structures and intermediation.

Gilles Gaillard has assisted major actors in the insurance industry for many years, on the domestic and on the international markets, with a recognized expertise in M&A and equity transactions, complex cross-border transactions, regulatory matters and anti-trust at a national and European level (including the first SGAM in France). He has broad experience in insurance law and in regulatory and litigation matters related to structures products in collaboration with specialized regulatory authorities. He organizes distribution and partnerships in France and abroad.

Gilles Gaillard has also been involved for more than 20 years in public and private M&A, private equity and corporate restructuring, with a focus on complex cross-border transactions and regulated sectors. He advises French and foreign funds, management companies, private and public investors, family and institutional shareholders, financial institutions, business creators, family offices in relation with their corporate finance transactions, acquisitions or disposals of assets and listed and unlisted securities, private equity transactions (venture capital, build-up), joint ventures and partnerships.

He is particularly active in the finance, insurance, energy, and life science sectors.

Gilles Gaillard is member of the International Bar Association, of the French societies: France Invest, AFIC, AJAR, AMRAE and “Cercle des Administrateurs” (with notably INSEAD and Wharton). Gilles Gaillard is member of ADVANT Altana’s executive committee and international board.

Before joining ADVANT Altana as a partner in 2017, Gilles was a partner at DE GAULLE FLEURANCE & ASSOCIES for 15 years and at MAZARS for 3 years.
