Career

Chiraz holds a bachelor’s degree and a Master I in private law (University of Sfax, Tunisia, 2011), a Master II in general and European private law (University of Limoges, 2012), and a PHD in arbitration law (University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne, summa cum laude, 2017) dealing with the establishment of the content of applicable law in international arbitration.

Before joining ADVANT Altana, Chiraz was a tutor in civil law at several universities (University Panthéon-Assas, University Saint-Quentin en Yvelines, University of Le Mans, University of Orléans).

Chiraz is a member of the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum (YAF), the LCIA Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG) and the Association for the Promotion of Arbitration in Africa (APAA).

Chiraz acts in ad hoc or institutional arbitration cases in French, English, and Arabic. She acts as counsel and has acted as a secretary of an arbitral tribunal. She has also been recently nominated as a co-arbitrator by the Paris International Court of Arbitration (CAIP) in an arbitration between French and Egyptian companies.

She is also on the list of arbitrators of the following arbitral institutions:

  • Centre de Conciliation et d’Arbitrage de Tunisie, CCAT;
  • Centre de Médiation et d’Arbitrage de Paris, CMAP.
  • Chambre Arbitrale Internationale de Paris, CAIP;
  • Centre d’Arbitrage, de Médiation et de Conciliation de N’Djamena, CHAD, CAMC-N

In another note, Chiraz is since January 2021 part of the arbitration exam team at the Paris Bar School.

Finally, she intervenes regularly as a speaker to discuss notably topics related to arbitration and mediation in the MENA region.
