Career

Katia is a law senior associate with significant experience in the field of Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences Law. She provides legal support and advisory services to local and international clients operating mainly, but not limited to, the Healthcare & Life Sciences industries on a wide range of issues. She also provides legal support and advice on corporate and commercial law matters. She joined Platis – Anastassiadis & Associates Law Partnership, the associated regional law firm of EY in Greece, in 2019.

Before joining EY, Katia worked in a boutique law firm in Athens with a focus on Healthcare, Corporate, Tax and Competition Law. She has previously worked at the UK’s National Health System (‘NHS’) as part of a service determining the allocation of funding for medical treatments in London, UK.

She is a member of the Athens Bar Association and was formerly a member of the Thessaloniki Bar Association.

Education

Katia holds a Law degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (LL.B, 2011), an LL.M in Medical Law and Ethics from Kent Law School (University of Kent, UK, 2013) and a PhD in Law also from Kent Law School titled ‘A Comparative Socio-Legal Analysis of Responses to Surrogacy in Greece and the UK’ (2018). During her studies, Katia has participated and presented her work in many conferences around Europe. She has also taught Obligations (Civil Law) to undergraduate law students, and provided practical advice to students at the undergraduate and postgraduate level on understanding and interpreting legal cases, reading, understanding and using case law and other legal and research materials, giving presentations, etc. (Kent Law School, 2013-2016).
