The ‘proactive and client-focused’ real estate and construction practice at Kinstellar handles large-scale, complex, and cross-border projects for investment firms, property developers, and major clients in the retail and tourism industries. The firm advised the MERIDIAM consortium on its winning bid for the €3.9bn Sofia Airport concession – which included advice on proposed construction processes and the future relationship with current tenants of the five million sq.m. airport site. The team also advises international clients on entering into joint ventures with local businesses for major projects. Antonia Mavrova, who leads the Sofia practice, has extensive experience in structuring lease agreements and property management contracts, while managing associate Mladen Minev brings his ‘outstanding know-how and eye for detail’ to real estate developments, including zoning and planning compliance, environmental assessment, and sales.
Kinstellar handles high-value disputes in infrastructure and public procurement, energy, pharmaceuticals, and finance. Having supported MERIDIAM in its winning bid to operate Sofia Airport, the firm has since been defending the award in litigation proceedings brought by competitors. The Sofia team is jointly led by Antonia Mavrova and Mladen Minev, while Kiev-based Kostiantyn Likarchuk is the firm-wide head of the litigation practice.
Kinstellar handles the energy aspects of large real estate deals and public infrastructure projects. The firm also counts energy and mining companies among its clients, providing advice on the regulatory environment to NovEnergy Group, and producing a handbook on mining regulation in conjunction with Simmons & Simmons. The team, headed up by Diana Dimova and Mladen Minev , has acted on contentious matters in the energy sector.
