Diana Dimova is a Managing Partner at Kinstellar’s Sofia office, firm-wide Head of the Banking and Finance sector and Head of the local M&A and Corporate practice. Diana advises international companies on their market entry and corporate matters, including implementation of changes in capital and corporate structures. She led the local team on the largest M&A deal in the Bulgarian banking sector of 2016. She also has considerable experience in infrastructure projects, having advised the project sponsors of a large gas infrastructure project and, more recently, the investors in the Sofia airport concession.
Diana has over 16 years of post-qualification practical experience grained in the local offices of large international law firms. Prior to that she held a senior position in KPMG, Bulgaria.

‘Very experienced, knowledgeable and superbly responsive’, the team at Kinstellar is well versed in high-value and complex cross-border financings. In one highlight, Diana Dimova led on the due diligence of Sofia Airport, including advising on the bankability of the €3.9bn Sofia Airport project. The group also advised the China Development Bank and the EBRD on making loans worth hundreds of millions of euros to Bulgarian banks in 2018 and 2019. ‘Exceptional practitioner’ Svilen Issaev, who heads the practice, is experienced in project financing, having advised United Bulgarian Bank as a lender, and Ecophos SA as a borrower. Senior associate Kristina Lyubenova is ‘outstanding‘.
Kinstellar’s corporate and commercial practice is active across a wide range of sectors, with a particular expertise in cross-border work that draws on the firm’s network of offices across the CEE and central Asian regions. It has advised Meridam, part of a consortium including Flughafen München GmbH and the German construction giant Strabag on its winning bid for the €3.9bn concession to operate Sofia Airport and assisted Intervet International with restructuring its Bulgarian operations. Diana Dimova leads the team, and Nina Tsifudina is also highly regarded.
Kinstellar handles the energy aspects of large real estate deals and public infrastructure projects. The firm also counts energy and mining companies among its clients, providing advice on the regulatory environment to NovEnergy Group, and producing a handbook on mining regulation in conjunction with Simmons & Simmons. The team, headed up by Diana Dimova and Mladen Minev , has acted on contentious matters in the energy sector.
