Position

Amanda is a Litigation and Dispute Resolution Partner in the Commercial Disputes Team.

Amanda advises on a wide range of commercial disputes and has over 20 years of experience acting for companies, partnerships and high net worth individuals. She has particular expertise in cases involving construction and engineering, professional negligence, insurance and reinsurance, financial and property issues and software licensing disputes. She has experience in all dispute resolution processes including litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation and settlement negotiations.

She has dealt with professional negligence claims acting for and against solicitors and law firms, accountants, IFAs and construction consultants including surveyors. She also has experience in dealing with financial disputes, particularly in relation to property investment portfolios and disputes or investigations of a regulatory nature. In addition she has also represented clients in disputes where insolvency issues arise.

Her construction experience includes providing advice to employers and contractors on issues such as delay, loss and expense, liquidated damages, payment notices, variations and defects. She has particular expertise in dealing with technically complex engineering claims.

Amanda has dealt with several large complex licensing disputes and is familiar with the issues facing companies in this area.

Amanda also has many years of experience dealing with insurance coverage disputes under all major types of insurance including PI, PL, CAR and E&O policies.

Trained Clyde & Co; qualified 1996; trainee and assistant, Clyde & Co (1994-1998); assistant, Holman Fenwick & Willan (1998-2003); senior associate, Reynolds Porter Chamberlain (RPC) May 2003 – September 2010; partner, Enyo Law LLP, October 2010 – December 2014; partner Hamlins December 2014 to date.
