Competition/antitrust Tier 1

By some clients' reckoning, Tadmor Levy & Co. is 'one of the very best antitrust teams in Israel'. Dispute resolution: class actions Tier 1

The litigation group at Tadmor Levy & Co. is recognised for its expertise across a range of disputes, and has particular experience with class actions involving banking and insurance products, and follow-on antitrust claims. In the financial services sector, department head Yechiel Kasher represented Bank Leumi in an objection to a class action alleging that the bank failed to fulfill its duties toward clients holding dormant accounts. The team also represented Bank Hapoalim in a NIS370m class action regarding consultation provided by the bank in relation to exchange-traded notes. Additionally, Kasher is representing eBay and PayPal in separate class actions involving foreign currency conversion fees. The team also defends Leumi Card in a litany of class actions concerning restrictive practices and currency conversion fees, among other issues. Also recommended is Shai Bakal, who has been involved in antitrust class actions for Nespresso Israel and Daimler.

Energy and infrastructure Tier 1

Led by the 'hugely experienced and highly respectedNoa Meidan, the department is best known for advising government parties on large-scale infrastructure projects, though the team is also engaged by domestic lenders, and has experience advising international project companies. In the transport infrastructure space, Meidan is advising the State of Israel on the full tender process for the financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the newest extension of the Jerusalem Light Rail; she is also acting for the governmental company responsible for facilitating the development of the Tel Aviv Light Rail, NTA - Metropolitan Mass Transit System, in relation to the most recent tenders for the development of the Green Line and Purple Line. Also of note, Meidan is acting for the State of Israel in relation to the Red Sea-Dead Sea water project; an international PFI project involving the Kingdom of Jordan, which is one of the largest global PFI projects to date. In one example, the highly recommended Yechiel Kasher is acting for TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company in relation to a dispute over the rights to overriding royalties arising from offshore oil and gas exploration. Kasher also represented First International Bank of Israel in a dispute regarding the bank's decision not to open bank accounts for companies trading in crypto-currencies. Other significant work included acting for Allergan in relation to a $300m derivative claim arising out of Teva's acquisition of Allergan's generics business. Tadmor Levy & Co. provides ongoing labour and employment advice to prominent domestic and international employers, and also handles labour litigation and collective negotiations for some of Israel's largest corporates. Indeed, the team was involved in a number of labour and employment disputes for Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Sonol Israel and Sprint Motors. Additionally, the department is engaged by Assuta Medical Centers in relation to all of its employment concerns, including employee terminations, collective negotiations and HR management. Led by Tal Keret, the team also provides day-to-day labour law advice to Credit Suisse, and assisted a Chinese construction contractor with all relevant work permits and regulatory compliance aspects for operating in Israel. Also of note, Keret acted for the labour union of Egged Israel Transport Cooperative Society in negotiations for a significant new collective agreement.

Hi-tech and start-ups Tier 2

'Hungry for success and fully committed to the goals of its clients', Tadmor Levy & Co. is instructed primarily by early stage start-ups, which it advises on investment transactions and out-license agreements as well as all ongoing corporate matters necessary for business expansion. Headed by Elie Sprung, the team has handled a number of seed and Series A financing rounds for companies in a range of technological fields, such as healthcare and medical devices, autonomous vehicles, fintech, cloud computing, and blockchain; Memic Innovative Surgery, Kindite, and City Transformer are among the team's company-side clients. Real estate and construction Tier 2

Tadmor Levy & Co. advises real estate developers, banks, financiers and corporate occupiers on large-scale residential and mixed-use development projects. The department is led by Sigal Shapira, who advised Friedman Chachshoori Engineering and Building Company on its sale of development rights for 600 residential units in the Park TLV project; this transaction also involved an option to purchase one-third of the development rights for an additional 2,500 residential units. Further, the team is acting for YH Dimri Construction and Development in relation to its successful bid for a residential development in Netivot under the framework of the Mechir Lamishtaken programme. In the finance space, Shapira advised Israel Discount Bank on the provision of financing for five large-scale projects, the first stages of which drew financing of approximately NIS1.5bn. Additionally, the practice group has handled high-value lease transactions for corporate occupiers such as Leumi Card and Decathlon Group. Senior associate Shoam Keren joined the firm from Charcon, Ben Ami, Asher & Co. Law Offices and now heads the group's planning and zoning practice within the larger real estate group.

Banking and finance Tier 3

Tadmor Levy & Co. has close working relationships with some of Israel's largest banks and financial institutions, which it advises on lending mandates and transactions in the heavily regulated banking sector. David Tadmor handles a wide variety of matters for Bank Leumi, which has recently included representing the bank before a government committee concerning the mandated separation between the country's banks and their credit card companies. In the lending space, the team acted for Bank Hapoalim in relation to a NIS2.8bn financing transaction for the construction of a power plant in Ashalim, and also advised Israel Discount Bank on multiple financing transactions for real estate and infrastructure development projects.
