Hussein Azmy, a Senior Associate located in Kuwait, has been an invaluable member of our team since October 2021. With a wealth of expertise in Islamic finance, capital markets, and corporate and commercial affairs, Hussein brings substantial experience to our firm. Before joining ASAR, Hussein honed his skills over a decade of practice in Egypt and Oman.

Professional Experience

Setting-up a Sovereign Wealth Fund: Provided advisory and support services for the establishment of the Oman Infrastructure Fund (Rakiza), a prominent sovereign wealth fund valued at USD 2 billion and headquartered in Oman.
Advised on a First Global Sovereign Sukuk Issuance: Acted as local counsel, providing guidance and advice to the Ministry of Finance of Oman in its pioneering endeavor of issuing the first global sovereign sukuk, valued at USD 520 million.
Advised on First Syndicated Ijarah Financing: Provided advisory services to Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (Egypt) as Initial Mandated Lead Arranger on the first syndicated Ijarah financing in Egypt, valued at USD 150 million, for the purpose of funding Maridive and Oil Services SAE’s working capital.
