Ms Agnietė Venckienė
Employment, Corporate and M&A
Senior Associate, head of Employment practice in Lithuania
As a senior associate leading Sorainen Employment practice in Lithuania, Agnietė Venckienė has been supporting business in all employee-related legal matters for more than ten years.
Advising foreign investors. Advice to foreign investors on employment matters is one of the key areas of Agnietė’s practice. She has supported many global corporations establishing their business in Lithuania ‒ primarily shared service centres and technology and manufacturing companies. Together with our employment team she advises them on setting up in Lithuania, preparing local employment contracts, adapting global HR policies to the local legal environment, working time management, daily HR situations, employment terminations and even market exits.
Sensitive HR situations. A significant part of Agnietė’s practice is dedicated to supporting our clients in sensitive HR situations. Whether this involves employee performance management, disciplinary issues, individual terminations, mass lay-offs or other business transitions, Agnietė’s goal is to provide legal support which enables the business to resolve these situations with the best possible outcome.
Transactional advice. She supports colleagues and clients in M&A deals and other business transactions where employees are a crucial part of the transaction, for example in cases of large-scale employee transfers.
Relocating to Lithuania. Agnietė has helped many clients relocate their management and employees from outside the EU to Lithuania by securing work and residence permits.
Corporate background. Agnietė’s background and experience in corporate law provides her with important know-how when working on executive contracts, terminations, compensation and related issues.

Sorainen excels in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, and the recent caseloads include assisting with restructuring, mass dismissals and stock option plans. Joint practice head Algirdas Pekšys handles employment and corporate matters and as such is well placed to advise on the employment aspects of corporate transactions. Counsel Agnietė Venckienė also leads the team and similarly advises on corporate transactions, sensitive HR issues and setting up operations in Lithuania.
