As a senior associate with the firm’s Banking, Finance & Insurance Practice Group, Agnė Sovaitė has been practicing law since 2008 and has significant experience in advising local and international financial market players on regulation of financial and insurance services sector, financial and insurance products and their distribution, along with related disputes.

Cross-border provision of financial services. Agnė advises clients on cross-border provision of financial and insurance services, setup and structuring of operations, including regulatory, product and distribution advice.

Financial sector-related M&A transactions. She was involved in landmark regional M&A cases in the financial sector and advise on local and cross-border business transfers.

Specialized financial transactions. Agnė’s extensive practical experience in highly specific financial transactions ranges from lending and security to capital markets.

Finance and insurance disputes. She also advises on disputes related to financial services and insurance and has extensive experience in insurance claims management.

Developing the legal framework. Agnė was involved in drafting and implementing EU and Lithuanian financial legislative initiatives; she was assisting the Ministry of Finance ECOFIN team on MiFID II file during Lithuania’s EU presidency, and in 2018, she co-authored the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) netting country opinion for Lithuania.

In headline work, Sorainen advised Ignitis Group on its €450m public offering, making it the largest-ever IPO in the Baltics. The deal illustrates the practice’s strong background in capital markets and Pan-Baltic instructions, but the team is also highly skilled in financing transactions and investment fund structures. Moreover, the group has also focused on growing areas such as fintech, green financing and cryptocurrency. Another area of focus is insurance law, where co-head Tomas Kontautas is a particular individual of note. Former banker Augustas Klezys also leads the team.
