Lina Ragainytė is a senior associate focusing on banking, financial services and regulatory law matters. As a member of our Finance & Insurance team since 2013, Lina has significant experience in advising local and international clients on regulatory and compliance matters as well as on regulation of financial services, financial products and related disputes.

Advice on financial transactions. With considerable experience in projects covering all three Baltic states, Lina regularly advises local and international clients in financial transactions, from consumer financing to highly specific structured financing involving syndicates of international banking groups.

Regulation of financial institutions. With in-depth knowledge in the regulation of financial institutions, including banks, leasing companies, consumer credit institutions and payment institutions, Lina has advised many successful market participants on obtaining licences and structuring their business operations.

Landmark transactions in the Baltics. Lina has had the privilege of advising clients in the most significant, complex and challenging projects implemented in the Baltics in recent years. She advised Nordea throughout the merger of its Baltic businesses with DNB to create Luminor; Providence Equity Partners on its acquisition of the Bite telecom group in 2016; and further the takeover of the Baltic operations of Modern Times Group in 2017, as well as PZU on its acquisition of assets in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia from RSA Insurance Group.

Developing legal framework. Lina has been involved in drafting and implementing EU and Lithuanian financial legislative initiatives. In 2017, she was involved along with international experts in a comprehensive analysis of existing legislation and preparation of a concept paper on covered bonds and securitisation, and introducing them in Lithuania.

First-hand experience in the banking sector. Before joining Sorainen Lina worked at one of the largest commercial banks in Lithuania. Her experience includes negotiations and advice on banking and finance law issues.
