Career

As a lawyer and certified personal data protection officer, Anna specialises in the areas of European Union law, personal data protection and information technologies.

Understanding the industry. She gained enhanced knowledge of data protection and modern technology issues on the specialised LLM programme at Fordham University in New York (Fulbright scholarship), as well as on the Professional Master’s programme in Cybersecurity Management at the BA School of Business and Finance. An in-depth understanding of privacy regulation outside the European Union allows her to assist not only local companies but also global corporations.

GDPR issues. In her daily work, Anna handles GDPR audits, draft internal procedures, train employees and advise customers on data protection matters.

EU law issues. Before joining the firm, she gained valuable experience while serving on the state administration, as well as working as an in-house lawyer. This experience has built proficiency in the business aspects of clients’ problems and the principles of operation of the state administration. She has provided legal assistance in representing Latvia at the Court of Justice of the European Union, including matters relating to taxation and customs, labour law, personal data protection, and the like.
